ALME YUTRONIC / paintings on metals
My work in small and medium formats, as well as murals, has focused on what I have observed in peer relationships and family history, where the concept of memory gains strength. I am fascinated by the passage of time, the milestones that shape people, and how these experiences forge them from birth to death. What we remember, or think we remember, becomes fragmented across cold metals (copper, bronze, and steel) and warm woods, giving way to distant images of what a true memory might be. This opens up to an inaccurate, imprecise narrative, one deserving of all our disbelief.
ISIDORA LACKINGTON / paintings
My body of work is composed mainly of paintings and pencil drawings with a realistic method. I investigate the imprint of the personal and collective memory through reclaiming that which is simple, ephemeral, and goes unnoticed. Be that through a landscape, a portrait or an object. I look to uncover the beauty of what is usually unappreciated, like a drive down the highway or a matchbox, by taking it and placing it on the field of artistic representation, thus transforming it into an image infused with emotional and historical meaning.
MARIANELLA BASCUR / collages
My work arises from the need to create a personal space to communicate my emotions and experiences as a woman, in the search for symbolic resources to give meaning to the events of my life, where my solitary and individual experiences are related, or want to be related, in a complicity with the viewer, especially with women, who are not alienated due to their own history.
Collage is the search medium to achieve this connection. The images and the objects are assembled, mixed, seeking new relationships between them: acquiring new meanings. The purpose is to get out the stories and emotions of private space.
In my current work, I reflect on women and motherhood: the limitations, the pain, the frustrations, the lack of time and the lack of personal space. Collage is the technique through I represent problems around women, where I use the small and minimal format to express the limitations that artistic creation has for a woman who is a mother too.
PÍA ALDANA / Sculptures in ceramics
My work arises from reflections and research on domestic collecting and the ritual, museological, memorial and fictional aspects intrinsic to the act of collecting. I am interested in addressing the symbolic established values that are between the collector and his collection, who sees his memories and the vast territory of memory unfold through the object he treasures.
I value collecting from the displacements, variations and innumerable peculiarities that I observe manifested in its practice. From there, I move towards nature (endemic flora and fauna) hyperbolically represented in my work and towards our popular mythical universe, as it constitutes a lucid and ludic space of identity and collective treasuring.
I adhere to the idea of Art and Culture as a right, as a possibility to configure reflection and dialogue. Above all, as a transforming element of conscience that fosters empathy, diversity and critical thinking.
